27 weeks

Dear Baby,

We had a fantastic Christmas!  You got a sweet little onesie and a frog piggy bank.  Next year you will be all over the wrapping paper and pulling off the ornaments from the tree. It seems like you have really stretched out this week.  I can feel you moving up in my ribs and down by my hips and around my sides all at the same time! Yesterday I could feel your hiccups for the first time.  They are so precious and tiny just like you!

Mommy

Dear Baby,

You have made this pregnancy so much simpler on me!  Thank you!  I just found out that I don't have gestational diabetes this time around, and I couldn't be more excited.  Now I can enjoy all those Christmas goodies about to come our way.  Hopefully the rest of our time together is just as pleasant and uneventful as the first little while has been.  Your Daddy and I  decided that we would each pick out a Christmas gift for you and we would open each others' gift.  Guess what- we both picked out the same thing!  You'll have to wait until after Christmas to find out what it is.  And then 3 more months until you can actually see it.  We can't wait to meet you, little one!

Dear Baby,

I have been having lots of contractions this week.  Every time I pick up your brother, or exercise, or feel stressed I start getting them.  I saw Dr. Jones this week and he says that is fine, as long as I take it easy if I start getting too many.  I also took my glucose test today.  Hopefully I will get the results by early next week.  I'm hoping for the best, but am fully prepared to have gestational diabetes again.  Either way, I will do my very best to keep both of us healthy.  I love you very much!

Dear Baby,

I have been busy getting things ready for you.  I went through all my baby boy clothes last night, and even picked out an outfit for you to come home from the hospital in.  It is packed up nicely in my new diaper bag.  I've been having some contractions this week.  I had lots of them on Friday, but they went away once I laid down for a while.  Tonight I had a few more while I was at Zumba, but they stopped after I was done exercising.  I think everything is fine, I just have to remind myself to take it easy sometimes!  I love you very much.

Dear Baby,

Today is Thanksgiving, and I am so grateful for my family- especially my little one on the way! We had such a great time with Daddy's family, but I can't wait for next year when you will be there next to Jack, eating the sweet potatoes! I have been sick the past couple days, but I think you are fine because I can feel you kicking me as I type this.  I had one strong contraction a couple days ago, but everything seems normal now.  Your dad and I think we have decided to name you Tate.  We'll have to see if something changes our minds in the next four months.

Love,
Mommy

PS- Here are some of my favorite pictures of you! The last one is my favorite, because it shows what a funny position you were in.

Dear Baby Boy,

We are so happy to know that you will be our son.  You had the funniest ultrasound- you were either folded in half at the waist or curled tight into a ball the whole time.  It made it very easy to see that you are a boy!  Jack is excited too.  He gives a big hug and a kiss to his "little brother" every night.  Today is a little sad for the Chamberlain family, as it was six years ago today that we found out your Grandpa Chamberlain had passed away. We miss him very much, and it makes me sad to think that my boys will grow up not knowing him, so I want you to learn as much as you can from him before you come down to us.  Please give him a big hug from us and tell him we miss him and think about him all the time.  We are so lucky to have an eternal family, and I know someday we will all be together again. I love you so much my son, my son.

Mommy

Dear Baby,

You have one tired mama!  We had Jack's birthday party this weekend, and right after that, Daddy got very sick with food poisoning. He ate a Subway sandwich that made him sick, but thank goodness, I wasn't hungry for mine and didn't even take a bite.  It's a good thing, too, because food poisoning is more dangerous for pregnant women, and it can affect the baby too.  I think our Heavenly Father is already watching out for you, little one!

19 weeks

Dear Baby,

We are almost half way trough this pregnancy! It has gone by so fast for me.  Sometimes I still wake up in the morning and forget I am pregnant until I look down and can't see my toes, because you are blocking them.  Then I smile and wonder what you will look like and what your personality will be. I just can't wait for you to join us. But please do wait- we don't want any preterm labor or a premature birth if we can help it!  I will just have to be patient.

Love,
Your Mom

Dear Baby,

We have had such a busy week!  We spent several evenings putting in a new dishwasher, and today we celebrated your Daddy's birthday.  You will get to enjoy it next year with us when he turns 30!  Tomorrow we get to try out our costume when we take Jack trunk-or-treating.  I can feel you moving often throughout the day now, especially when I try to get into a tricky pose in yoga.  I think sometimes you get a little squished- sorry!  I love feeling you move.  Even Daddy has felt it once.  It's very reassuring, so keep it up!

Dear Baby,

I went to see Dr. Jones yesterday.  We listened to your heartbeat again.  It sounded very loud and very strong- 160 beats per minute.  The doctor said everything looks very good.  We made an appointment for your ultrasound in 3 1/2 weeks.  I can't wait to see pictures of you!  I feel you moving every night now.  I love it!  Hopefully Daddy will be able to feel you too soon!

All my love,
Mommy

Dear Baby,

I just felt you moving!  As I was laying Jack down for his nap, I thought I felt some flutters.  I laid down for a couple of minutes and pressed on my stomach.  Sure enough, I could feel you squirm away every time I moved my hands! I've been working on our Halloween costume this week.  I painted a skeleton shirt with a little baby skeleton in the tummy.  I hope everything is going well for you, and that you are good and healthy.

Mommy

Dear Baby,

Yesterday was my first day in maternity jeans.  They're still a little roomy, but my normal clothes are just too tight! You are about four inches long, the size of an apple, and growing more every day.  We'll be going back to the doctor again soon to hear your heartbeat. Yesterday, Jack got to play with your cousin, Paul, for a while.  It is so cute to watch him interact with a baby.  I can't wait for him to be able to play with you!

Love,
Mommy

PS- I've included a picture of my growing tummy!  We took it while we were at the pumpkin patch with Jack.

Dear Baby,

How are you?  I wonder sometimes how you spend the day.  Are you kicking all day and practicing water aerobics, or are you a snoozer, and just enjoy floating around inside of me?  I thought I felt a little kick today while I was driving home from the grocery store.  I had the seat belt pulled tight against my waist, and I could have sworn I felt something pushing back against it. The doctor says I will be able to feel you more often soon- around 16 weeks!  I can't wait!

Dear Baby,

We got to hear your heartbeat last week!  The nurse said it sounded good and strong- 169 beats per minute.  I'm starting to feel a lot less sick during the day.  Hopefully I will be back to normal soon.  We just found your Aunt Lori will be having a baby girl.  Now I'm more anxious than ever to find out whether you will be our son or daughter.  We think about you all the time and can't wait to meet you!

12 weeks

Dear Baby,

I am almost 12 weeks today (11 weeks and 6 days)!  I have been waiting for this since the moment we found out I was pregnant.  As long as everything goes well at our doctor's appointment on Friday, I think I we can breathe a  sigh of relief.  I'm not feeling very well today, but most mornings I'm starting to feel a little bit better.  You are already starting to show a little in my tummy!  I'm not wearing maternity clothes yet, but I know it won't be long.  We can't wait for you to join us!

11 weeks

Dear Baby,

I got to sneak a tiny glimpse of you last week!  It was so exciting! I couldn't see much, but I could see a big mound of baby, and that there was only one of you.  Next week we will go listen to your heartbeat.  It's so interesting how different this pregnancy has been for me already.  I was so, so sick with your brother, but this time around, I haven't vomited once!  I still feel very sick much of the day, but if I keep some food in my stomach, it's under control.  Also, you have been making me very tired.  I need a nap almost everyday.  Jack talks about you constantly.  He is convinced that you will be his sister.  We will find out soon enough!

Mommy

Dear Baby,

I have been dreaming about you every night.  I dream about going into labor, delivering you, and holding your tiny little body in my arms.  I just can't wait to meet you.  So far, in my dreams, you were a boy, but in a few months we will actually find out.  I'm very excited, because your aunt Lori is going to do a little ultrasound for me tomorrow, if she has time.  I can't wait to see what you look like so far!

Lots of love,
Mommy

Dear Baby,

I've had some ups and downs this week, but I feel so blessed to have you entering our lives.  I've been reading up on your development, and you are the size of a grape, about an inch long.  I can also start to feel a round lump, about the size of an orange below my belly button when I lie flat on my back in the morning- you're growing!  We are all so excited for you to join us- even your brother!  Jack pats my tummy every day and says, "Hi, baby!" then he gives it a little kiss. I hope everything is going just right for you.  We will find out in three weeks at our first appointment.

8 weeks

Dear Baby,

We've spent about eight weeks together now.  You and I went down to Texas this past week.  We got to visit with lots of family that you'll get to meet later.  They are all very excited about you.  We also visited the doctor for the first time.  They only took medical history this time, but in about a month, we will go back and listen to your hearbeat!  I can hardly wait!  I love you more everyday.

Dear Baby,

You are growing bigger and stronger everyday.  I can tell, because I have been quite sick this week.  Even though it is difficult, not feeling well, I know every moment will be worth it.  Your Daddy and I started discussing names for you.  We have a couple that we really like, but we are waiting to find out if you are a boy or a girl before we make any big decisions.  I love you very much.

Dear Baby,

It's been a little over a week and it is finally sinking in that we will soon be a family of 4.  We are so happy to add one more to our little family.  I've been feeling extra tired this week and a little sick to my stomach.  Those are both good signs that you are healthy and growing!  We told Grandma Chamberlain about you this week and she is very excited.  I'm waiting to tell your Nana and Grandpa when we go down to Texas in a few weeks.  I know they will be thrilled!  I love you so much!

Dear Baby,

We just found out you will be joining our family yesterday.  Daddy and I are so excited!  Your brother, Jack doesn't understand, but he gave you a big hug and a kiss right on my tummy anyway.  So far, I am feeling very good.  I am taking lots of vitamins and exercising to help keep us both healthy.  I can't wait to meet you, little one!
